“Melissa’s
presentation was both inspiring and motivational and she is
truly an Advocate for our industry. Melissa’s story touched the
hearts of our Advisors and Agents and truly reinforced the value
of the work and service we provide to our clients and the
community. All companies and sales professionals need to hear
her story and the dramatic impact life insurance has played for
Melissa and Madison and what a difference they have made in the
lives of so many. Thank you for giving so much of yourself to
serve others.”

“Melissa
Wandall – Beyond the Real Deal”
I first heard
of Melissa through a Newsweek 2006 realLIFE stories article. A
copy of that story, which shows Melissa her daughter Madison
Grace and their dog, sits on the corner of one of my desks as
you enter my office. I have shared her story and the benefit
life insurance has played with many prospects and clients since
2006.
In August,
upon hearing she was going to be the featured speaker at and
upcoming company meeting, I faxed the 2006 article stating to
the company what an “outstanding choice as a speaker she was.”
On September
9, 2009-2011 I personally heard her speak at our company’s
Symposium. Afterwards I had the chance to talk with her and
have since communicated several times.
Melissa has
an incredible passion for the life insurance business and what
it means to families. Her sincerity is genuine and her spirit
uplifting. She has so much to offer and is willing to share,
whether it be in a large group or individual setting.
Melissa is
truly and inspiration.

We recently
had Melissa and Madison speak at our Soaring Eagles conference.
This is the
third time I’ve seen her and her five-year-old daughter,
Madison, in action. It is one of the most genuine and moving
presentations I’ve ever seen during my 55 years in the financial
services industry.
Melissa
definitely tugs at the hearts of the people in attendance.

Melissa Wandall presented at
our Life Conference this year to an audience of 550 life
insurance agents. With logic and emotion Melissa’s message
motivated agents to guide clients in the understanding of the
value life insurance provides – not only in choices for the
survivor, but more importantly how insurance can open doors to a
survivor’s destiny.

In the current environment where challenging economic conditions
continue to put pressure on financial services firms, including
Life Insurance companies, it is important to remember the value
and importance of the products and services we offer to our
customers. This was the theme of the recent John Hancock Life
Insurance quarterly employee meeting. To assist with this I
invited Melissa to join us as a special guest speaker. In
telling her story Melissa did an excellent job of giving us all
a very personal reminder of why we are in this business and who
we ultimately serve.
Melissa gave a moving account of how life insurance proceeds
helped her to stay in the family home to raise their daughter,
Madison Grace, and to fund her college education in addition to
allowing her to reach out to help her community through the Mark
Wandall foundation and other endeavors. She clearly
demonstrated to the audience that because of our business, our
clients and our communities are stronger.

Melissa and Madison Grace were featured guest
speakers at our September 13, 2010 quarterly meeting which
celebrated Life Insurance Awareness Month. Melissa’s heart felt
message to home office employees of our life insurance business
segment served as a wonderful example of what a life insurance
benefit can mean to someone. Melissa takes you beyond the basics
of life insurance because of what her foundations have been able
to accomplish. Her mission of paying it forward is not only
motivating professionally, but personally as well. Thank you
Melissa - all the best!
